Tailored for homeschooling, our African-centered program for kindergarten through 2nd grade celebrates rich cultural heritage and diversity. - The curriculum incorporates Afrocentric perspectives, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of African history, traditions, and contributions. Engaging lessons are designed to nurture young minds, promoting critical thinking and cultural awareness from an early age. The program integrates various subjects, including language arts, math, and social studies, with a focus on African narratives and achievements. Through this educational journey, young learners not only acquire academic skills but also develop a sense of pride and connection to the global African diaspora.

Welcome to third, fourth & fifth grade! Akoko Nan Homeschool Collective is designed to provide our scholars with knowledge of self, pride in our heritage, self-determination and how to bring solutions to the problems in our community. We support all core academic programs, as well as Afrikan Proverbial Development and Arts. We are looking forward to meeting our new scholars and creating a space for everyone to feel safe, connected, and supported. Akoko Nan is an Akan principle meaning “nurturing and discipline” in Twi.

Throughout our year, students will embark on a journey toward gradual independence as learners. Through an exploration of themselves, their community, and the larger world around them, we aim to build a supportive and trustful learning community where students will grow their curiosity and establish habits and routines for a successful year. Our mission is to be not only educators but powerful actors; acting on the power we already have. We must empower our black nation and our children.

Our afterschool program consists of various activities including arts and crafts, gymnastics, and chess. This takes place Monday through Friday from 3-6 pm. Schedule may vary. Inquire for daily or weekly rates.
